Airdrie, Alberta – On February 20th, 2015, at approximately 8:10 pm, Airdrie RCMP was alerted by Provincial Emergency Medical Services of a youth female who has purchased a prescription medication from a youth male and was experiencing medical distress at Genesis Place.
Airdrie RCMP City members attended. The youth was treated and released to parents.
Interviews on scene have led to one male youth suspect. The investigation is continuing.
This incident highlights the dangers of illegal and prescription medications. Parents are encouraged to talk with their children about the dangers of drugs. Students and youth can also speak with their school administrators or RCMP School Liaison about the dangers of drugs.
