While most Albertans take a break from work or school, many continue to work so we can enjoy the season.
The end of the year is a time when many Albertans gather with family and friends to celebrate the holiday season, enjoy festive events and take a break from their daily routines.
Some workers don’t get that break, and their contributions to providing a welcome holiday for Albertans shouldn’t be forgotten. The store clerks providing precious gifts; the oil, gas and utility workers ensuring homes are warm; the restaurant and supermarket staff making sure tables are laden; the health workers and first responders keeping people safe; and the road crews clearing the way for travel – all are working to give Albertans the opportunity to make the most of their holiday time.
