EDMONTON (September 21, 2015): Today, Wildrose Shadow Energy Minister Leela Aheer began a discovery tour of Alberta’s energy sector, visiting sites in the Drayton Valley-Devon and Leduc-Beaumont constituencies.
“Meeting with Albertans who work in the energy sector and viewing the incredible scale of operations we have in our province provides me with information and insight to stand up for Albertans in the Legislature this fall,” Aheer said. “This will give me an important first-hand look about how current and proposed government policies are impacting companies on the ground.”
Aheer will be gaining a deeper understanding of the energy sector by traveling across northern Alberta, and will be joined by caucus colleagues from Wildrose.
“Wildrose knows how this sector is being impacted by the economic downturn,” Aheer said. “I am looking forward to learning even more about the industry during this tour, which will allow me to be an even stronger advocate for our province.”
