What’s Happening at Oilfields: November 2015

Food Bank Donations

The Student Council in connection with WE Day is taking on a local initiative to bring in food for the food bank. We encourage students to bring non-perishable food items to school and put them in the box in the front entrance/foyer. We will have a 2 week blitz of collecting as much food as we can for the food bank (we may extend it to the end of the month if needed).  Let’s make a difference in our communities!

Remembrance Day

Oilfields High School will be observing Remembrance Day with a ceremony for students and invited guests at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10. Students are asked to wear a poppy on that day. Poppies are available at the front office and donations to the Poppy Fund are encouraged.  Please note that there will be no school for staff and students on Wednesday, November 11.

All members of the public are invited to the Remembrance Day Service hosted by The Royal Canadian Legion, Turner Valley Branch #78. This ceremony will take place on Wednesday, November 11 at 10:30am. The legion asks that all people attending are in their seats before 10:30 a.m.
