Foothills Foundation has now changed its name to Westwinds Communities.
Immediate steps to launch the new branding for the organization will include a formal ceremony at the Annual Seniors Week Barbecue, Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at High Country Lodge, 707 Government Road, Black Diamond from 11:30-1:00pm. including plus branding and identity. A new website will also be released later this month at www.westwindscommunities.ca. Site signage will also be updated this fall.
The name Westwinds reflects the wind direction in our region and provides context of our location. Communities was selected to reflect our supportive living, independent living, family housing and affordable housing communities in addition to the local communities we provide service (Black Diamond, Okotoks, Turner Valley and High River) and the local communities we service (from Calgary to Claresholm, and east to Vulcan and west to Bragg Creek). The new name Westwinds Communities will minimize confusion with local organizations of similar names and eliminate the perception that we provide funding to charities.
Seniors from all four of our communities in the Foothills Region have been invited to celebrate their legacy and our official brand launch with food, fun and entertainment. Over 100 seniors are expected to join us from the Westwinds Communities’ Black Diamond, High River, Okotoks and Turner Valley senior’s supportive and independent living sites.
This event represents our keynote celebration in a week long tribute and festival of the outstanding contribution our seniors continue to provide our communities and province.
