Westmount’s “Socktober” Campaign for Rowan House

A Message from Grade 7 Students at Westmount School:

Do you want to be a leader? Well we need Community Leaders to help us support an important group of people in our community!

Let’s  all participate in the campaign  of “Socktober” for the entire month of November.

Socktober is a campaign where we will donate NEW items for mothers and children that are accessing services from Rowan House. Rowan House is an emergency shelter for ladies and their children that need help because they have been in a violent or abusive relationship. We have chosen this charitable organization in our community and surrounding area to support through our Socktober campaign.

Ask your families and friends, even ask your hockey team or dance club to help. Some items we will be accepting are: jackets/coats /hoodies/sweaters, mittens/gloves, hats, toiletries (shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste) and even things like books, coloring books, journals, pens/pencils/crayons for childrens toys. For more information on the items you can bring please visit the Rowan House website:  http://rowanhouse.ca/help/

All DONATIONS can be placed in the bin outside the Westmount School office and will be donated at the end of the month.

Remember if you have any questions please talk to the grade 7’s at Westmount School as they are hosting the Socktober campaign! Thanks in advance for supporting this great cause.
