Votes needed for George Lane Park Centennial Stage redesign

High River, AB: In March, local artists were invited to submit proposals for the redesign of the Centennial Stage in High River’s George Lane Memorial Park.

“The public will now be given the opportunity to vote on their favourite design by taking the online survey or voting in person at the Municipal Building, Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex and the Library,” says Tannas Webb, parks supervisor with the Town.

Voting will be open until June 15, 2015 and the design receiving the highest number of votes will be declared the winning submission; however, the advisory panel has the final say. The winning design will also be awarded a $2,500 prize.

The Centennial Stage Redesign is a collaborative project involving representation from The High River Rotary Club, Highwood Lions Club, The High River and District Recreation Board, the Arts and Culture Advisory Committee and the Town of High River.

Rotary International has committed $100,000 to redesign the stage which has deteriorated and needs to be replaced.
