Municipal Boards and Committees

Finance Advisory Committee
The Town of Turner Valley is currently seeking two Turner Valley volunteer members at large to sit on the newly formed Finance Advisory Committee to assist Council in fulfilling its financial oversight responsibilities.  The committee is advisory in nature and is responsible for reviewing and making recommendations to Council on matters related to the Town’s fiscal matters.  For more information please view the Finance Advisory Committee Volunteer Opportunity. Application period closes November 15.

Intermunicipal Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (ISDAB)
The Intermunicipal Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (ISDAB) is a quasi-judicial board comprised of members from the Towns of Black Diamond and Turner Valley and the Village of Longview. The ISDAB hears appeals from municipal subdivision and development authorities of the respective municipality. For more information, please see the Intermunicipal Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (ISDAB) description.

Community Volunteer Opportunities 

Oilfields Sports Association is currently looking to fill a couple vacancies on their board. The AGM is November 28th at the Sheep River Library at 6:30pm.

The organization is also looking for a Soccer Coordinator for next season (training included) as well as a Baseball Coordinator (shadowing/assistant position for the coming season, coordinator for 2020-2021 season), please contact Christine Bates (403) 995-2706 if you are interested in either position.

In 2019 the Oilfields Sports Association is celebrating 40 years as a non-profit in our area offering affordable recreational sport opportunities for children and youth. The organization is run solely by volunteers including a board of directors, coaches, refs and many other behind the scenes roles.
