Airdrie, AB – Late last evening, the second suspect charged in relation to the shooting of a man near a local fitness centre on Mackenzie Way in Airdrie on September 27, 2015 turned himself in to the Calgary Police Service, whereupon the RCMP took custody of the suspect.
Mathew Van Schiak*, 21 years of age, of no fixed address, has been charged criminally with:- Aggravated Assault, Discharging a Firearm with Intent, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon.
He will appear in Airdrie Provincial Court later this week with respect to these charges.
The 39 year old victim of this shooting is expected to recover fully. The public and media are thanked for helping the RCMP conclude this investigation.
