HIGH RIVER, AB: The Town of High River will be unveiling two new murals as part of a community celebration being held on Saturday, June 18. The event will also include live music in George Lane Park and a free barbecue.
Mural one
- Located on the east side of Servus Credit Union (319 Centre Street S.E.)
- Unveiled at 11 a.m.
- Designed by Michelle Loughery
- Entitled “New Roots,” the design features horses running through water and reflects the unity of the community working together to move forward through sprit and determination.
Mural two
- Located on the south wall of Highwood Printing (515 1 Street S.W.)
- Unveiled at 11:20 a.m.
- Designed by Alex Pavlenko
- Represents the spirit of community celebrating High River’s renewal. The viewer is invited to join a circle of people who have linked hands while children dance in the centre.
Community celebration
- George Lane Park from 12 to 4 p.m.
- Free barbecue
- Live music from the Cletic Group, Nova Scotiables and local band the Heirlooms
- Arts and craft sale
- Other fun activities!
The Town would like to thank FortisAlberta for their support. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs for this event.
