Turner Valley School News – Spring Break

OZ - TV SchoolApril is a great month not only because we have Easter break, but the weather is turning more summer-like every day. Spring is going to fly by with all the activities already planned. The BIG event is our Spring Theater Production “Oz” on April 29 and 30th! Feel free to spread the word as the students have put a ton of effort into making this a wonderful performance.

Student Led Conferences were another great success, a big thanks to all the parents who attended. It is so great to see students sharing and talking about their learning.

Learner profiles went home March 27th, please take the time to read over the comments and have meaningful discussions with your child. Go through it discussing their areas of strengths and needs, and maybe setting some goals to finish the year with success. Once you have visited with your child please sign and return the folder and envelope to the homeroom teacher.

And of course at any time if you feel the need to talk with your child’s teacher please contact them to make an appointment.

April is a busy month with many exciting events happening in and around the school. After the break on April 14th the grade ones are headed to Heritage Park. On the 15th of April, Grade 6 students will take another step in their transition to junior high when they attend Driller for a Day at Oilfields High School. This program provides our students with the opportunity to try out some of the option courses that OHS offers as well as to meet with some of the teachers. On April 23 members of our archery club will be headed to a provincial archery tournament in Drayton Valley.

Spring is here and the sun is shining, take the time over the break to enjoy the time with your family and recharge for the ‘mad dash’ to the end of the year.

Happy April Everyone, James Holladay and Chase Ellis
