Trustee Jeannine Tucker commended Turner Valley School and the 10 students (see photo below) who took part in the National Archery in School Program (NSAP) provincials in Drayton Valley on April 23rd. Each archer gets 40 arrows in total, with five for practice, then 20 arrows each at the 10 and 15 metre distances. Turner Valley has been running the program for three years, although this was the first tournament for all of the students. There were over 900 shooters at the competition. Turner Valley had two girls in the top 100 – Jocelyn Holladay and Ylexus Bean – and four girls in the top 20 for all Grade 6s – Jocelyn, Ylexus, Kaylie Bandura and Kaylee Jennings!… Jeannine also congratulated Oilfields School’s girls’ rugby team, which is currently undefeated in their league – topping Chestermere 67-5 in their most recent game!
