Tree Canada Helping to Restore George Lane Park

Tree Canada was in town on Thursday, August 7th to assist the Parks department with the planting of over 400 native species trees and shrubs around George Lane Park, the Town Office and the parking lot just north of the Museum of the Highwood.

“We would like to thank everyone involved for making this project possible,” said Darlene Donovan, Arborist and Open Spaces Specialist for the Town. “George Lane Park is an important green space for our community, and it we’re thrilled to have had the opportunity to plant new trees that will help us restore it.”

Funding for this project was donated by Northbridge Insurance.

The Town will be planting more trees around High River in the near future and will include volunteer opportunities to get the community involved.
