The Town of Okotoks began the water main twinning project on July 2.
The work is expected to take approximately 5 weeks (weather permitting). This project will install a new larger dedicated water main that will connect the Zone 2N and 3N reservoirs.
This will improve the reliability and efficiency of this portion of the water distribution system. The alignment of the main will run from the Zone 2N reservoir, follow the rear north-south lane between Lock Crescent and Wentworth Crescent, cross Milligan Drive, and continue up the linear utility corridor until it crosses Waldron Avenue and then ties in to the Zone 3N reservoir.
The pipe is being directionally drilled, which will save time and minimize overall inconvenience for area residents; however, restricted access and noise can be expected for residents living near the proposed drill location.
