Also Includes a New Garbage & Recycling Collection Mobile App
On December 22, the Town of Okotoks ‘soft’ launched a beta site of the new Okotoks.ca that will reflect substantial changes in navigation and technical capabilities.
Okotoks.ca is now mobile-friendly, and has been re-configured to provide an optimal viewing experience that automatically displays across a range of devices from desktop computer monitors, to mobile phones and tablets.
New features to the site include an enhanced mega menu system, “I Want to” quick links, and a one-of-a-kind dashboard feature that populates across the website with quick access to news, events, contact information, publications, Town Bylaws and maps.
“Council is committed to maintaining a high level of service to our community, and this new website will better serve the public and provide enhanced web-based services and engagement opportunities, the new website better reflects who we are as a community and what we have to offer residents, businesses and guests to our Town,” says Mayor Bill Robertson.
Included in our new site is a mobile app that will allow residents to receive instant access to their garbage and recycling information. The app is available for download by searching “Okotoks Waste” in your app store. The app will provide you with garbage and recycling schedules and a feature to sign up for collection notifications so that you will never miss a collection day again.
Okotoks.ca promises a more positive experience for visitors to the site, which receives over 900,000 page views per year. In early 2015, there will be ongoing continuous enhancements along with a new Report-a-Problem mobile app.
Once live, the site can be viewed at the same address Okotoks.ca. On December 23, if you are still unable to see the new site, try clearing your cache (information your browser keeps to help you load sites faster on repeat visits). The method to clear your cache differs by the browser you are utilizing.
