Council and staff are highly appreciative of everyone who has helped with cleanup around town. Lots of our amazing residents have been helping out neighbours, friends and family to begin removing all of the debris left by this week’s “winter” surprise.
Town crews will be continuing to clean up Town property through next week until that job is completed.
Residents can continue to haul their tree debris to the Foothills Landfill – the Transfer Station just out of Black Diamond reports that it is full to capacity.
If you are unable to take your tree debris to the landfill yourself, and you do not have friends or family able to assist you, the Black Diamond Fire Department has agreed to provide some assistance to those in need. Please call the Town Office at 403-933-4348 and provide the following information to the Receptionist:
Name, street address, phone number, description of the debris (size, location, etc.)
Someone will be in touch to help you out as soon as we can get to you. If the Fire Department volunteers determine that an arborist is required, due to accessibility, safety, etc. then they will provide with some contact information to help you find the contractor that’s right for you.
Hortscape has been working along with the Town staff to remove trees in the streets, blocking traffic or creating unsafe conditions, as well as the debris collected on Town property. HBD Basement Protection-Foundation Inc. has donated a bin to help the residents of Black Diamond with their clean up. It is located at the south end of the Oilfields Regional Arena. We thank both companies for being there to help.
