‘Tin Star’ Filming in High River this Week

HIGH RIVER, AB: The Town is pleased to announce that film crews will be returning to High River on March 1 to continue production of season two of the TV drama ‘Tin Star.’

Interior filming will take place on Thursday, March 1 and Friday, March 2 at 111 3 Avenue S.W. and 118 4 Avenue S.W. There will be one exterior scene filmed outside of 118 4 Avenue S.W. on Friday March 2 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Film crews will be conducting intermittent traffic control on
4 Avenue S.W. from 1 Street S.W. to Macleod Trail S.W. during the exterior scene.

A stunt rehearsal is scheduled for Friday, March 2 at 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of 9 Avenue S.W. and 7 Street S.W. The rehearsal will take two to three hours and is required in order to review safety protocols and set a safe perimeter for a scene that will involve two vehicles colliding.

Filming of the scene and vehicle stunt will commence on Monday, March 5 at 7 a.m. In order to accommodate crew vehicles and ensure continuity of picture, the following parking restrictions will be observed:

Friday, March 2 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.:

  • No Parking on 9 Avenue S.W. from 6 Street S.W. to 8 Street S.W.
  • No Parking on 7 Street S.W. from Macleod Trail S.W. to 10 Street S.W.

Monday, March 5 from 7:00 a.m. to 8 p.m.:

  • No Parking on 9 Avenue S.W. from 6 Street S.W. to 8 Street S.W.
  • No Parking on 7 Street S.W. from Macleod Trail S.W. to 10 Street S.W.

The intersection of 9 Avenue S.W. and 7 Street S.W. will also need to be closed during the rehearsal and filming. Detour signage will be in place to re-direct traffic.

There will be additional filming taking place inside the Charles Clark Medical Centre located at 303 9 Avenue S.W. from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Crews will require the use of three parking spaces and may need to re-direct clients to the east entrance.

‘Tin Star’ is produced by Kudos Film and Television and was created by acclaimed British director and screenwriter Rowan Joffe. The show is described as ‘an epic tale of deception, betrayal, murder and revenge set against the backdrop of remote and beautiful Canadian mountain town.’ The series stars Tim Roth; who is known for his roles in ‘The Hateful Eight,’ ‘Pulp Fiction’ and ‘Reservoir Dogs’ and Christina Hendricks; known for her roles in ‘Mad Men’ and ‘Drive.’
