Wetaskiwin Wings and Wheels begins – in the air – on July 20th

The gates to Alberta’s summer of excitement open in just two weeks, at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 20thWetaskiwin Wings and Wheels is a four-day staycation adventure of supersonic summer excitement in the air, thunderous speed on the ground and a leisurely walk back in time!

In the air – The Wetaskiwin Air Show

The fun begins “in the air” on July 20th at The Wetaskiwin Air Show, where visitors will experience the aerial ballet that has made the Canadian Forces Snowbirds Canada’s Ambassadors of the Skies and one of the top air show performances in the world.

The CF-18 Demonstration Team will shred the sky in a high power performance that demonstrates the best of today.

The Canadian Forces SkyHawks, Canada’s only military parachute team, gives a silent performance of aerial dance and colour like no other.

The air show also includes Aerobatic Performers in vintage aircraft that will dazzle and excite all ages.

Back in time – at the Reynolds-Alberta Museum

Air show tickets include entry to the Reynolds-Alberta Museum, the backdrop for the day’s activities.  Visitors will experience “Spirit of the Machine” and all that this amazing museum offers. See the mechanical marvels that have made Alberta strong and enjoy selected displays from the past, present and future.

On the ground – Edmonton International Raceway in Wetaskiwin

The Edmonton International Raceway hosts the ground-trembling power and fury of the NASCAR Canada Pinty’s Series – Alberta Has NEW Energy 300 – on July 22nd and 23rd – with special Guest Alex Tagliani and Alberta’s own local race heroes!
