HIGH RIVER, AB: The Town of High River is collaborating with the Foothills Kinettes to collect feedback from residents on the design for the new park located at the former High River Water Tower site at the corner of 8 Avenue S.E. and 3 Street S.E.
The Foothills Kinettes have raised the energy, support and finances to enhance and improve the former water tower park and, in addition to open houses that they have held to gather feedback, they are looking for responses to this short survey.
The current concept plan was created based on the feedback from the first open house and the survey is intended to further narrow down the focus in order to build the space according to the available resources, energy, and community spirit.
The concept plan and survey were also on display to attendees of the March 17 Registration Round-Up event, but the Town and the Kinettes are excited to gather more feedback from stakeholders.
The survey asks respondents to rank their choices of features and amenities that would be most beneficial to this space. It will ask what typical features are preferred, for example, a playground, seating, and shade; but feedback is also needed on the desire for custom features such as a climbing structure or zip-line.
The survey also seeks to determine if residents feel the space needs a historical component in order to memorialize the former water tower structure.
The survey is open now until April 4 at 4 p.m. and any residents with an interest in the park space are encouraged to submit their responses.
