Special weather statement in effect
Smoke over Central and Southern Alberta could result in visibility reductions and poor air quality.
Forest fire smoke from the Pacific northwest is expected to move into Alberta early this morning. The smoke will move in aloft but is expected to mix down to the surface late this morning or early this afternoon. There is still uncertainty as to how concentrated the smoke will be at the surface, but there could be significant reductions in visibility and air quality.
The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.
