There are many speculations about climate change, sustainability and what the future holds for us and future generations. As individuals, many things are out of our control, but we can practice Permaculture. Permaculture is a design system that aims to create sustainable human habitats, wherever you choose to live.
Many Permaculture practitioners in our province are gathering together this July 8-10th in Turner Valley, to host a Permaculture gathering including hands-on workshops, tours of Permaculture properties, and a sampling of local/organic foods. Permaculture advocates aim to grow as much of their own food as possible, reduce energy use, and increase energy efficiency in housing, economics and food production. Presenters will offer workshops in: rainwater catchment, fermenting foods, creative facilitation, making paper, sustainability and economics, making herbal salves, wildcrafting medicinals, video documenting your (Permaculture) project, and using wildflowers in the landscape.
