On January 10, 2015 the Sheep Creek Arts Council invites all in the community to join us for soup, conversation and a beginning of the creative New Year at 133 Sunset Blvd. West in Turner Valley between 11:00am and 2:00pm. This will provide an opportunity to discuss and see samples of the projects and workshops planned by the Sheep Creek Arts Council between January and June 2015. Membership in the Council is only ten dollars a year and provides members with many benefits.
All of the clubs within the Council will resume regular meetings for 2015 in January. The Decorative Painting group, with Evelyn Richmond as instructor, will begin Monday afternoon (1:00 to 3:00pm) January 12th or Thursday evening (January 15th) 7:00 to 9:00pm. On Tuesday afternoons the Knitting Club gets together from 1:00 to 3:00pm beginning January 13th. The Scrapbook Club resumes regular meetings Tuesday, January 30th, 7:30pm (call Barb Ducharme, 403-933-4424 for more info). On the first and third Wednesdays of each month (beginning January 21st) the Diamond Valley Quilters will resume their projects (10:30am to 3:30pm). The Camera Club meets regularly on the fourth Tuesday of the month (January 27th) from 7:30 to 9:30pm. Members of the Camera Club often showcase the photography and travels of some of their members on specific Friday evenings. New projection equipment has been installed to make those free presentations even more enjoyable. Watch for notices of these events. All of these clubs welcome new members, especially those wanting to learn something new in the creative arts.
The Course and Programme Guide for Foothills Continuing Education will be made available very soon. Sheep Creek Arts Council is a member, so this programme guide will contain the complete list of ongoing activities as well as special workshops with guest instructors on a variety of topics. Please join us on January 10th for soup and conversation (11:00am to 2:00pm) at 133 Sunset Blvd. West in Turner Valley.
