Sheep Creek Arts Council: AGM and Upcoming Classes

By Lavonne Gallant

The Annual General Meeting of the Sheep Creek Arts Council will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 2:00pm. We have a full slate willing to be elected but if you would like to join the Board please call Evelyn at 403 933-3947. The Camera Club will be giving a slide show of bird photography; as well this is a good opportunity to show off your work at the Show and Tell demonstration right after the meeting. Come out and enjoy a coffee and dessert.
If you are a quilter or just beginning to learn we have 2 more classes coming up this session.

Cowboy Boot Runner. – Come out and learn the technique of machine applique. This class will use the Scan and Cut machine to cut the boots and then applique the boots to the centerpiece and use decorative stitching. (If you have another image you want to use instead of boots this can be arranged if you have the image available on the computer).

Quilt as you Go Class – Students will quilt 9 blocks (a prepared block or just a piece of fabric) and then sew them together with sashing to finish the quilt. This quilts as you go method makes it easier to quilt on a home machine.
Photographers have a Basics Camera Course. Does your camera setting baffle you: Wish you understood a little more about photography? Come join us in this introduction to digital photography.
Our Painters have 3 classes available this session.

Paint Your Way. Continue to strengthen your art through knowledgeable decisions and planning while working on your own new projects. Individual help provided to complete an acrylic painting of personal choice. Bring a photo and have fun learning with others. Beginner and intermediate artists welcome.

“Dew” Some Raindrops with Acrylics. Explore and paint dew and raindrops in nature and finish a painting in one day. Some experience working with acrylics is beneficial.
