In mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add water, ¼ cup (60mL) at a time, stirring with wooden spoon and adding additional water if necessary. Turn dough out onto work surface and knead until smooth, pliable dough is formed.
Using rolling pin, roll dough out to ¼ inch (5mm) thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes. Use the drinking straw to place a hole at the top of each shape (for the hanging ribbon).
Using spatula, transfer shapes to parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Bake at 300oF (160oC) for 1 to 1 ½ hours, or until dough is dry and hard but not brown. Cool completely before proceeding.
Paint your ornaments with a white base then let paint dry before painting more designs. Decorate with glitter glue as desired.
Fold a length of ribbon in half, knot the open end, place the closed in through the hole in your ornament and place the knotted end through the loop created in the ribbon, pull taut and you are ready to hang your ornament.
