Rowan House: Birdies for Kids, Presented by AltaLink

Rowan House Emergency Shelter is thrilled to announce we have been selected as a participating charity in the Shaw Charity Classic’s newest opportunity – Birdies for Kids – and we need your help!

We will receive 100% of every donation collected on our behalf and have the potential to receive up to 50% in extra funding through their matching program – stretching your donation even further.

You can either make a one-time flat donation, or a pledge of $0.01 (or more) for each birdie made by Champions Tour players during the Shaw Charity Classic event August 5th to 9th.

For those who may not know, in golf, a ‘birdie’ is a score of one stroke better than ‘par’ for any golf hole on the course. ‘Par’ is the expected score of a professional. For example, on a par 4, a score of 3 is a birdie. In 2013, there were 1,000 birdies made at the Shaw Charity Classic and 892 in 2014. 900 birdies are estimated to be made this year.

Get even more excited about this world-class professional sporting event and help Rowan House reach it’s yearly fundraising goal of $800,000. Your support makes a difference in the lives of families in your community.

Visit the News & Events page at www.rowanhouse.ca to find out how to make your donation.

Thank you for your consideration!
