Roger Brooks is returning to Okotoks to present the branding direction for Okotoks.
Brooks, an expert in the fields of tourism, community marketing and downtown development was last here in September, 2015. At that time he spoke to and consulted with a number of community groups, Town staff and the public, to gather insights and suggestions about the future of downtown Okotoks.
Okotoks residents weighed in on what they wanted the town to be known for and, over the past several months, all of the ideas that came from those meetings have been put through a process that has resulted in a branding direction that will shape Okotoks’ future for generations.
Roger Brooks will be presenting on January 15, 2016 at the Rotary Performing Arts Centre from 9am-10:15am. Admission is free, but due to limited seating, registration is required. Visit www.okotoksventure.ca or call 403-938-8052 to reserve seating.
The event, hosted by the Town’s Branding Taskforce and Okotoks Economic Development, promises to be of interest to residents, business owners and community groups alike.
“The taskforce worked hard to consolidate and assess the findings of the surveys and interviews and we are excited to learn what the Brooks Team created,” said Alexandra Ross, Economic Development Specialist for Okotoks. “It will be interesting to see the direction we’re going to take to make our downtown more vibrant and attractive for residents and visitors alike.”
Brooks’ presentation will shed light on development, continued downtown improvements, local amenities, new business opportunities, and what the marketing of Okotoks will look like.
