Rowan House organizes 2nd annual One Billion Rising event raising awareness about violence against women.
Did you know: 1 in 3 women across the world will be beaten or raped during her lifetime? That’s ONE BILLION WOMEN AND GIRLS.
Part of Rowan House’s mission is to raise awareness and provide education about domestic abuse within our service community. One Billion Rising is a global movement where people all over the world shine a light on violence against women and take a stand against it. The movement started in 2012 and Rowan House organized it’s first march in 2015.
Our 2nd annual One Billion Rising march is set for Saturday, February 13th from 1-3pm. We will departing from Ethel Tucker Park in Okotoks, marching through the down town core, and heading back to the park for entertainment and speeches.
If you don’t think you can do the march, feel free to join us at the park at 2pm.
Check out our Facebook Page for more up-to-date information as we get closer to the event.
Hope to see you there!
