Celebrating All Things Biking
Waterton Lakes National Park is providing a sneak peak at how enjoyable the Red Rock Parkway is when the road is closed to motor vehicle traffic between November and April each year.
On Saturday September 27th, cyclists will have the road to themselves on the Red Rock Parkway by participating in the “Ride the Red Rock” and “Take a Kid Mountain Biking in Waterton Lakes National Park!” events.
Join us at 9:00 a.m. in the Pass Creek picnic area. The Parkway will be closed for all motor vehicle traffic between 9:00 a.m. and noon. Participants can ride as far as their interest takes them, whether it’s the first few kilometres or the 30 km round-trip all the way to Red Rock Canyon and back.
Through special events like Ride the Red Rock and exciting new activities and programs across the country, Parks Canada is supporting Canada’s National Conservation Plan by taking concrete action to connect Canadians to nature.
Quick Facts
- This is the 5th annual Ride the Red Rock.
- Helmets are mandatory for anyone under 18, and highly recommended for everyone else. We encourage children to come with a legal guardian.
- There will be snack stations and technical assistance.
