Calgary, AB – They’re back! Contrary to popular belief, not all dinosaurs are extinct as the Calgary Zoo’s animatronic dinosaurs have returned to once again take over Prehistoric Park. Recently bestowed a Gold Award from Interpretation Canada, this award-winning experience reopens March 18, 2016. Dinosaurs Alive features new additions for 2016 such as water cannons and a custom-created stage show.
“Dinosaurs Alive has been such a hit with paleontologists of all ages,” says Roz Freeman, Special Events Advisor, Calgary Zoo. “We are so excited to bring back the event and educate our visitors about the ultimate conservation story. We can learn so much from dinosaurs and that can apply to how we protect populations of animals today.”
The interactive adventure showcases 18 animatronic dinosaurs and sees the return of the zoo’s eager mascots, Sam, and a lifelike t-rex, Rex, to teach the community everything they know about prehistoric creatures that roamed the earth 65 million years ago.
