Results from Public Engagement Process Will be Shared at High River Open House

HIGH RIVER, AB: The Town will share the results of a recent public engagement campaign to develop a master recreation plan for High River during an open house on November 19.

The Open House will be hosted by the Town and McElhanney Consulting Services Ltd. from 4:30 – 9 p.m. at the Highwood Memorial Centre located at 128 5 Avenue S.W.

The event will include a presentation at 8 p.m. that will provide details on the public feedback received so far regarding the Master Recreation, Facility and Programming Plan. Participants will still be able to provide additional feedback during the open house, which will be included in the final report that will be presented to Council.

Representatives from McElhanney have been collecting feedback from the public, Town staff and other major stakeholders from September to November in order to identify needs and priorities related to recreation, cultural services, programs and facilities within the Town of High River.

This information will be used in the development of a long-term Master Recreation, Facility and Programming Plan for High River with 10 and 20 year goals.

Community members were asked to participate in an assortment of information gathering processes such as interviews, surveys and online interactive mapping. McElhanney Consulting Services Ltd. has also been working closely with Council, Town staff, the Arts and Culture Advisory Committee and the Recreation Board.
