Red Deer Lake School Fundraiser

So why, you might ask, did Red Deer Lake School Principal Craig Barabash wear a chicken suit at school for the entire day on January 20th? In the fall, the school challenged students to raise enough money in their annual magazine subscription drive to buy chickens for African villages. The goal was fifty chickens and, at last count, the students were up to sixty. Craig reported performing the chicken dance about fifteen times in several classrooms and said school council chair Amber DenHoed watched him “like a hawk” (pun intended!) to ensure he wore the suit right through to the end of the day.
