RCMP – Wetaskiwin Bomb Threat to Court House a Hoax

During the afternoon on 2015-09-08 police received 2 separate 911 calls indicating a possible bomb at the court house in Wetaskiwin. The calls were made by two different people at two different pay phones. The court house staff were notified, the building was evacuated of both the public and staff. A thorough search of the court house was conducted and nothing suspicious or concerning was located. It is believed the calls were a hoax. Court proceedings were affected during the afternoon but it is expected that it will be business as usual today. The police investigation into the suspects that made the false reports is ongoing and several investigative leads are being pursued.
