Vulcan RCMP with the assistance of Search and Rescue have performed an exhaustive search of the surrounding shore line of McGregor Lake with no further findings. After consulting with all participating search partners it has been determined that there is no further searchable area remaining and the search for the missing male has now been called off. RCMP will continue to follow up with all leads for the missing male and initiate additional searches as information warrants. RCMP are still attempting to find the family of one of the two persons that were on the boat so specific details of the persons involved will not be released at this time out of respect for the family.

The search for a missing 37 year old male boater in McGregor Lake is continuing and there has been no further developments. RCMP are continuing their search of the lake and shoreline and have brought in additional police boats to assist, along with volunteer search and rescue groups. The boat that the two persons are believed to have been on has been recovered. Further details of the deceased female and missing male cannot be released at this time pending the notification of their families.
2015-August 2nd: Missing Boater / Sudden Death – McGregor Lake
On August 2nd 2015 at approximately 5:15 PM, members of the Vulcan RCMP Detachment were called to investigate a boat which was adrift in McGregor Lake. Through speaking with members of the public it was learned that a male and a female both in their 30’s were seen setting out on the lake in the same boat earlier that day. Shortly after, a member of the public found a deceased female on the shoreline of the beach. The deceased female was not wearing a life jacket and none were found on the 6.5 meter pleasure craft.
Vulcan RCMP continue their search for the missing male boater and have brought in RCMP Dog Services, a Police boat and Helicopter to assist in the search efforts.
