St. Michael, Alberta – Two Hills RCMP received a report that between November 13th and November 15th unknown persons shot a horse while in a pasture on Range Road 190. The horse was shot in the middle of its torso with a small caliber firearm, possibly a .22, and suffered injury as a result. Residents in the area had previously seen persons shooting from the roadway in a dark coloured pickup truck. It appears that this incident is not related to hunting and was merely to cause harm to an animal. Injuring animals is a serious offence and carries a maximum penalty of 5 years imprisonment under the Criminal Code,  members of the public should call police immediately if they suspect this is occurring.

Two Hills RCMP are seeking the public’s help with any information related to the shooting of horses/cattle.
