Shortly before 7:30 AM, Monday, November 16th, 2015 the Turner Valley RCMP were called to a two vehicle collision approximately 1km North of Plummers Road on Highway 22 between Millarville and Priddis. The Investigation has shown a northbound vehicle believed to have crossed the center line into the path of the oncoming Southbound traffic, and was struck on the passenger side. The driver of the Northbound vehicle, a 29 year old female died as a result of the collision.
The 58 year old driver of the southbound vehicle was airlifted by STARS to a Calgary hospital in serious condition.
Police are still investigating this collision with the assistance of the Collision Reconstructionist. Cold weather and extremely icy roads are believed to be factors in this collision. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in this collision.
Motorists are encouraged to drive for the winter road conditions, and take extra precautions when necessary.
