RCMP Thanks Public for Assistance in Identifying Suspect


RCMP - Crest-insigneAirdrie, Alberta – The RCMP would like to thank the public for its assistance in identifying a male involved in a theft from Costco in Balzac.

At 5:00pm on July 30th, 2014, a male suspect entered the Costco Wholesale Store in Balzac. The male selected a $600.00 upright vacuum, and brought it to the returns counter. The male told the counter staff he had received the vacuum as a gift and wished to return it. When asked for his membership card, the male said it was in his vehicle and departed with the vacuum. The male did not return. Staff quickly realized what had occurred and contacted RCMP, providing high quality video surveillance and staff witness statements.

Investigators received several calls from members of the public regarding the identity of the male, and charges are pending.
