RCMP in Strathmore are asking motorist to avoid travel on Highway 1 between Strathmore and Calgary due to the snowfall today. Near zero temperatures along with the snow fall, have resulted in extremely icy conditions which are difficult to see due to the snow cover. There have been reports of multiple accidents along Highway 1. No injuries have been reported at this time and emergency crews and Highways Maintenance are working to help road conditions, however RCMP are not recommending travel at this time.
