RCMP Strathmore – Serious Injury MVC


Strathmore, Alberta – On October 6, 2014 at approximately 20:47 Hours, members of the RCMP located a collision on Highway #1 near Range Road 274, Rockyview County, Alberta. Members determined that a pick-up truck had been eastbound on Highway #1, when it collided with a Semi-Truck and trailer, who was also eastbound. The pick-up truck was severely damaged in the collision, and the driver pinned in the vehicle. The driver of the truck was transported to hospital with serious and potentially life threatening injuries.

Strathmore RCMP continues to investigate the collision at this time, and alcohol is being considered as a factor. The name of the involved driver is not being released at this time, pending further investigation.

Attending the scene of the collision and providing assistance were Chestermere RCMP, RCMP K Division Collision Analyst, Langdon and Chestermere Fire Departments, Alberta Sheriffs, Alberta Health Services and STARS.
