RCMP Strathmore -Pedestrian Motor Vehicle Collision

On February 9, 2016 at approximately 15:38 Hrs. Strathmore RCMP, along with the Strathmore Fire Department, Wheatland County EMS, Strathmore Town Peace Officers, and STARS responded to a Motor Vehicle Collision involving a pedestrian at the corner of Thomas Drive and Brent Blvd., Strathmore, Alberta.
RCMP investigation has determined that a 13 year old male from Strathmore had been struck while crossing Thomas Drive, by a Pick-up truck making a left hand turn from Brent Blvd. The pedestrian was struck by the vehicle and dragged for a short distance. Upon attendance of Emergency Services, the pedestrian was transported by STARS to a Calgary Area Hospital with unknown injuries in Stable condition.
Vehicle access at the intersection of Thomas Drive and Brent Blvd, Strathmore, Alberta was restricted due to the collision investigation.
Strathmore RCMP, along with the RCMP Collision Analyst, continue to investigate the cause s to the collision. Charges have not been processed at this time, and will be considered based on the results of the investigation.
