Strathmore, Alberta – On March 25 2015 Strathmore RCMP received a call from a concerned member of the public, regarding the welfare of a male who had gone missing. RCMP members were able to locate the male on a rural property just east of Calgary on Highway 1. Once on scene, RCMP obtained further information that the person had been held inside a travel trailer against his will.
RCMP Secured the area and subsequently executed a search warrant on the property. Police recovered a stolen vehicle, multiple stolen items, and several firearms. RCMP are still at the scene continuing the search in relation to the stolen property.
RCMP have charged the following persons with Forcible Confinement, Pointing a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Kidnapping with a Firearm.
28 year old David Timothy LAW , 27 year old Andrea HAERT and 32 year old
Michael Warren STOFFELS all of no fixed address in Calgary, Alberta
The accused have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear in Calgary Provincial Court March 31st.
RCMP are confident that this was a targeted incident, and that the public is not at further risk.
