RCMP Strathmore – Two (2) adult males charged with multiple Break and Enter & Thefts
On January 28, 2015, Strathmore RCMP arrested and charged two adult males, William Corey KELLY and Benjamin GROSS, who were involved in several Break and Enter and vehicle theft investigations the night prior in Strathmore and surrounding rural area.
William Corey KELLY has also been charged with Flight from Police and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. In addition, KELLY has been charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over and Under $5000 and Break and Enter to Commit in relation to several investigations from early January 2015 that occurred in Langdon and the County of Rocky View.
Strathmore RCMP utilized resources from the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) in gathering significant evidence that has resulted in the successful conclusion to multiple investigations.
RCMP Cochrane – Fatal hit and run collision
On January 31st 2015 at 6:25 am Cochrane RCMP received a complaint of a deceased male on an unnamed road South of Morley Alberta. The exact dynamics contributing to this collision are still being investigated however police can confirm that the deceased a 22 year old male from Morley was on the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle that struck the victim then left the scene.
Cochrane RCMP have seized a 2004 Dodge Neon believed to be involved in this incident. Gabriel Lazarus WESLEY age 22 from Morley has been charged with Failure to Stop at Scene of Accident sec. 252 of the Criminal Code. WESLEY is currently remanded for Court in Calgary on February 2nd 2015. Many aspects of this collision are still under investigation.
Cochrane RCMP would like to thank the Stoney First Nation community for their assistance during this tragic event.
