RCMP Strathcona County – Mannequin Prank


Mannequin prank a “dummy” move…….

DSCF4748Sherwood Park, Alberta – This morning at approximately 6:30 a.m, Strathcona County RCMP responded to a complaint of a possible body hanging from a power line along Wye Road east of Range Road 216. The citizen who called in with the information believed it was a possible prank but was not completely sure.

Strathcona County RCMP attended the scene immediately and quickly confirmed the “body” to be a mannequin. Assistance from Strathcona County Emergency Services was required in order to bring the mannequin down.

“This is certainly concerning to us.” said Cpl Darren Anderson of the Strathcona County RCMP. ” Any time you are dealing with DSCF4753power lines there is a potential for danger not only to our responders but to whoever was responsible for putting the mannequin there in the first place.”

The mannequin was dressed in red Proban coveralls, black balaclava, work gloves with the word “Matt” written on them. There was also a number 33 written on the sleeve, a large “C” inside a triangle on the front chest and an unknown symbol on the back.
