BEISEKER AND STRATHMORE ATTEND COLLSION AT HWY 9 and 567 INTERSECTION
Beiseker, AB — On Thursday may 5th, 2016 at approximately 1:50 pm Beiseker and Strathmore RCMP responded to a collision at the intersection of Highway 9 and 564. A car travelling north bound on Highway 9 made a left turn at the intersection into the path of a southbound pickup resulting in the collision. The driver of the car had to be extricated from the wreckage by members of the Landon and Balzac Fire Departments and was transported to hospital by STARS air Ambulance in life threatening condition. The driver of the pickup was not injured.
Investigation of the collision is continuing with the assistance of the Calgary RCMP Collision Analyst.
Highway traffic was temporarily disrupted.
Milk River RCMP Attend a Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision
Milk River, AB — A 61 year old male has died as the result of a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 4 and Highway 36. On May 5, 2016 at 5:15pm, emergency crews responded to the collision which involved a semi tractor trailer and a motor home. The driver of the tractor trailer died on scene and the two occupants of the motor home were transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Investigation into this matter is ongoing and the cause of the collision is yet to be determined.
Traffic in the area was re-routed.
