RCMP Southern Alberta: Claresholm and Fort Macleod


Claresholm RCMP – Theft and Hit / Run

On June 13th, 2016 at approximately 11:30 AM there was a hit and run in the Claresholm Tim Horton’s parking lot.  The unknown suspect vehicle struck a 2013 black Chevrolet Silverado’s tailgate causing damage.  The Claresholm RCMP are asking any member of the public who may have seen or been apart of the collision happen to come forward to the RCMP or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Sometime between June 10th and June 13th, 2016 two welding trucks belonging to Claresholm Welding were targeted for thefts.  Both trucks cable reels and cabinets were stolen from the vehicles.  The Claresholm RCMP are asking any member of the public who may have information regarding the thefts to come forward to the RCMP or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
RCMP Fort Macleod – Residential Break & Enters – MD of Willow Creek
Between June 15 and June 23, 2016 the RCMP Fort Macleod detachment has received seven complaints of residential Break & Enter in the MD of Willow Creek.  All of these incidents occurred south of the Town of Fort Macleod in the rural area.  Unknown suspect(s) are breaking through locked and/or entering through unlocked doors and rummaging through homes and vehicles.  Items being taken include hair products, money, empty cans (recycling), food, credit cards, cameras, and other personal items that can easily be liquidated.  Some of the criminal activity is occurring during daylight hours when the home owners are away.
The RCMP Fort Macleod detachment is actively investigating these offences and is requesting rural residents in this area to be vigilant with respect to keeping homes locked up and valuables secured.  Please also be on the lookout for suspicious activity, persons, and vehicles in the area and report them to the RCMP at 403-553-7200 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
