RCMP Redcliff – Pedestrian MVC

MVC Involving 2 Children

Shortly after 8:30 am on November 19, 2015, Redcliff RCMP responded to a collision at 3rd Street and 6th Avenue SE in Redcliff. An eastbound Chevrolet Cobalt had struck two 9 year old children who were crossing the street at an unmarked crosswalk. One child suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene, while the other was examined and is not believed to have been injured. All involved persons are residents of Redcliff, and members of the public stepped in to immediately provide aid.

The investigation is continuing, and at this time, no decision has yet been made with regards to charges.

The RCMP wish to remind drivers to always observe in a 360 degree arc around their vehicle at all times, to anticipate traffic issues ahead as much as possible, and that pedestrians ensure it is safe to cross a road before proceeding by ensuring eye contact is made with a driver.
