RCMP Okotoks – Rural Home Invasion with a Firearm – Update

RCMP-Crest-insigne1-e1393524295759.jpgOkotoks, Alberta – On February 24, 2015 at approximately 10:30 a.m., a rural residence in the Municipality of Foothills was unlawfully entered. A lone male wearing a mask entered a residence and pointed a firearm at a 77-year-old elderly male demanding money.

An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen and the suspect fled in a black 2007 GMC Yukon bearing Alberta licence plate number BHX 5651.

The elderly male did not receive any injuries during the incident nor was the firearm discharged.

The suspect vehicle is believed to be in the City of Calgary, Alberta or surrounding area. If this vehicle is located, please do not approach it or its occupant and contact your local RCMP or Police Service.

***UPDATE***

This was an isolated incident and the suspect is in RCMP custody.

Justin Carl IRVING (30) has been arrested in relation to the incident. Justin Irving has been charged with break and enter commit robbery, robbery with a firearm, disguise with intent, possess weapon dangerous to public peace, possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation x 2. Justin IRVING has been remanded in custody pending bail hearing in Calgary, Alberta.
