RCMP Okotoks – Fatality and Home Invasion


 

Fatality Motor Vehicle Collision

Okotoks, Alberta – On February 24th, 2015, at approximately 6:00 p.m. RCMP were called to the scene of a single vehicle collision by the Calgary Police Service, as the collision was determined to be within RCMP jurisdiction.  The initial investigation has revealed that a passenger vehicle was south bound on 96th Street West, off of Highway 22x, South of Calgary, when it struck a guardrail, became air born and came to rest on its side.  The driver, an adult male and lone occupant in the vehicle was ejected and subsequently died while en route to hospital.  Investigators remain on scene to determine the cause of the collision, which is still under investigation.

Arrest In Home Invasion With a Firearm – Update #1

Okotoks, Alberta – RCMP have arrested an adult male in relation to a home invasion that occurred this morning at a rural residence in the Municipality of Foothills. A lone male wearing a mask entered a residence and pointed a firearm at a 77 year old elderly male while demanding money.

The identity of the arrested male will be released once charges are sworn.
