Serious Motor Vehicle Collision
Okotoks, Alberta– On March 14th, 2016 at approximately 6:33 p.m, Okotoks RCMP and emergency services responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on 274 Avenue and 112 Street east in the MD of Foothills. The driver and lone occupant of a black GMC Yukon traveling westbound on 274 Avenue lost control, rolled and landed on it’s roof.
The driver of the GMC Yukon is in serious condition- status unknown at this time. The driver was transported by STARS Air Ambulance to hospital.
The identity of the driver is not being released at this time.
The highway at 274 Avenue and 112 Street east were closed until 9:45 p.m while RCMP conducted their investigation and is now open.
Okotoks RCMP along with an RCMP collision Analyst continue to investigate.
UPDATE
The driver was transported by STARS Air Ambulance to Foothills Hospital, where he succumb to his injuries.
The deceased is identified as Stephen Hofmann, 33 yrs, of Okotoks Alberta.
