RCMP Make Arrest in Relation to Okotoks Break and Enter at Tailgate Mercantile

Okotoks, Alberta – On March 1st, 2019 at approximately 1:00 am the business Tailgate Mercantile Co. located at 21 Elizabeth Street was broken into and RCMP began to investigate.
Entry was gained by smashing the front windows of the business.  Video surveillance from the premise showed two males entering and taking multiple NHL Lacer Sweaters and Hoodies along with NHL hats and various other clothing articles and cash.
Two days later on March 3rd, Redcliff RCMP arrested and charged one of the two men alleged to be responsible.
Carl Christopher Quesnell (46) of Calgary was arrested and charged with Break and Enter to a business, Theft over $5000.00 and Fail to comply with conditions of an undertaking.  All of these charges are in relation to the Break and Enter at Tailgate Mercantile.  Quesnell was remanded in custody to appear in Okotoks court by way of CCTV on March 8th, 2019.
Quesnell was stopped and arrested for unrelated charges in Redcliff, all which lead to the recovery of most of the property obtained from the theft in Okotoks.  The second male is known to police and efforts to located him continue.  The second male’s identity is not being released at this time.  Police are not searching for anyone else in relation to this investigation.
