RCMP Major Crimes Unit Investigating Deceased Female Found Southeast of Cochrane, Alta. – UPDATE

Cochrane, Alta – The investigation continues into this homicide. The RCMP Major Crimes Unit are asking the public’s assistance for any information in relation to this homicide. Police are requesting anyone with dashcam video from Highway 8 between Glenmore Trail and Highway 22 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday February 26 to contact Cochrane RCMP at 403-851-8000 or your local police.

Backgrounder

Cochrane, Alta. – On Feb. 26, 2020, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Cochrane RCMP received a call of a deceased female on Hwy 8 southeast of Cochrane, Alta. The RCMP Major Crimes unit took over carriage of the investigation.

On Feb. 27, 2020, an autopsy was completed at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary and the manner of death has been deemed a homicide. The 24-year-old female from Calgary has been tentatively identified; however her name will not be released at this time.
